Children’s Church

Children’s Church is for all children and young people and takes place during the first half of the 10:15am service on Sundays during term time. Children have their own activities in the Magi Room, which is within the main church building. Parents are welcome to join them if they wish. Children’s Church includes opportunities for learning about Jesus and having fun. Further details from the Vicar or Children’s Church Coordinator.

The following paragraph was written by one of the children (12), describing children’s church from their perspective.

At children’s church, we read stories from the bible and make fun crafts that show the meaning of the stories. The children’s church leader explains what we are going to do, perhaps a game, a colouring activity or something else! Every service except the All Age service, the children from the congregation and choir gather in the Maij room. After children’s church has finished we return to the service and show everyone what we have made. During Matins, the children in the congregation go to children’s church but the junior choristers join them after the anthem is sung. As there isn’t much time when it is Matins, we sometimes watch a film that explains the readings in a more child friendly way.
